「The hole」 2019年5月に公開されたMVは、バイセクシャルの男性と出会った少女の物語です。男性役を演じる清水尋也さんの繊細な演技が話題を呼びました。
ファンの間ではライブで聴きたい曲として挙げられることが多く、2019年に行われたライブ BRL’19 では喉の調子が悪かったボーカルの井口さんが膝をつきながら声を振り絞った伝説の一曲となっています。海外からのコメントにはあまりの美声に井口さんを女性と間違える方もいらっしゃいました。

・it's sad...really sad. I burst in tears when watch it. I feel sympathy for the boy with his struggle but nothing can hold back when his boyfriend left him. He wants to fill the hole of people who he loves and brings happiness to them but no one can heal his hole, they become wounds in his heart. Maybe no one of them selfish, they also want to complete him with his half when they decide to loosen their hands. finally, everything beats him down, he loses everything even his life. Now he is their wound, maybe they both feel regret later but there's no time to fix anything more. anyway, it's a wonderful song.
悲しい、とても悲しい。これを見る時涙がでるよ。男の子が葛藤して、でもボーイフレンドが離れた時に何ものも引き止めることができないのは同情を感じる。彼は自分が愛する人の穴を埋めたかったし、彼らに幸せをもたらしたかった。でも彼の穴を癒すものは何もなかった。あの人たちは彼の心の傷になった。多分、誰もわがままではないんだ。あの人たちは手を緩めることにした時、彼の半分で彼を完成させたかった。最終的に全てが彼を打ちのめした。彼は全てを失った。命さえも。今では彼はあの人たちの傷になってる。多分両方とも後悔してるけど、これ以上修正する時間はない。なんにしろ、素晴らしい歌だね。

・This was the first King Gnu song and music video I ever saw, and it was so weird I almost didn't continue listening to the band. This song is still my least favorite, just because it almost singlehandedly stopped me from ever looking into King Gnu's other songs. They're one of my favorites now lmao
