伝統工芸青山スクエアがアップした動画。
指物は釘などの金属を使わずに木と木を組み合わせて作られた家具や調度品をさします。江戸指物、京指物が代表的ですが、京指物は平安時代に生まれ、室町時代の茶道文化によって発展しました。高級和家具や素材を生かした挽物のほか、上品なデザインと雅な趣が特徴です。 調度品や挽物のほか、曲物や板物の茶道具が作られます。
動画では釘を使わず木を組み合わせる「組手」の行程と木を熱して形を変える「曲物」の行程が紹介されています。
