「闇夜」は2019年6月にMVが公開されたEveの楽曲です。手塚治虫原作のテレビアニメ2019年版『 どろろ』2期のエンディングテーマに起用されました。『どろろ』は1967年のマンガで、鬼神に四肢を奪われた百鬼丸と盗人をしていた どろろが出合い、体を取り戻すために妖怪と戦いながら戦国の世を旅する物語です。手塚治虫の原作は未完結作品ですが、アニメはこれまでに3度の制作が行われ、未完結部分を補う形でマンガや映画が作成されるなど人気の作品です。Eveはボーカロイドやニコニコ動画などインターネットからから活躍の場を広げたアーティストで、この歌はメジャーデビュー後初となるシングル配信であり、自身初のテレビアニメ主題歌ともなりました。E veの動画の特徴でもある美しいアニメーションMVも人気の一つです。
