MAPPAの公式YouTubeチャンネルより、手塚治虫原作のテレビアニメ2019年版『どろろ』の1期オープニングムービーが公開されました。
オープニングに使用されている「火炎」は女王蜂の曲。『どろろ』は1967年のマンガで、鬼神に四肢を奪われた百鬼丸と盗人をしていた どろろが出合い、体を取り戻すために妖怪と戦いながら戦国の世を旅する物語ですが完結せずに終了しています。未完の原作を補完してのアニメ化となった他、よりドラマチックな演出を行うため取り戻す体の順番を入れ替えたり、画風を現代的に変更するなど大幅なアレンジが加えられており、原作読者やアニメ初見組からも賛否両論のあるアニメです。放映から4年ぶりのOP公開に続編を期待する声もありましたが、おそらく同じ手塚治虫さんの「火の鳥」望郷編の映画化に起因するものと思われます。

Mappaは本当に手塚治虫の古典シリーズのリメイクにクレイジーな仕事をしたよ。もっとたくさんの人が百鬼丸について語るといいな。(それとアトムも。両者は少年アニメ主人公として極めて無視されてるよ)
