2023年8月31日にNetflixで公開された実写版『ONE PIECE』。尾田栄一郎さん原作の漫画やアニメも世界中で大人気ですが、実写版も90か国以上のNetflixランキングで1位を獲得し、プロの批評家からも高評価を得ています。この結果を受け、Netflixは続編の作成を決定。その発表は原作者であり、実写化の監修も行った尾田栄一郎氏本人が行いました。原作者の顔を出さないようにするため、作中に登場する電伝虫を原作者本人に使用させるという粋な演出は海外ファンの心も掴んだようです。
