2023年8月31日Netflixで『ONE PIECE』の実写版が公開されました。世界的人気を誇る尾田栄一郎さんのジャンプ漫画『ONE PIECE』。これまでNetflixではカウボーイビバップやデスノートなど、日本アニメの実写化がコケていることもあり、ファンタジー要素の多い人気作品の実写化に不安視する声も多く聞かれました。実際に配信が始まると、90か国以上のNetflixランキングで1位を獲得、視聴者のみならずプロの批評家からも高評価を得る結果となり、原作を知らない人にも勧められると話題になっています。Netflix『ONE PIECE』最終予告編の動画には既に視聴した方からの絶賛のコメントが寄せられています。コメントは英語版からとっていますが、映像はNerflixJapanからあがった同じ動画の字幕付きのものを掲載しています。

・The cast will probably get more attention for how well they embody The Crew, but the show's crew, specifically the production designers, deserve a huge pat on the back for how good this looks.
キャストは多分、クルーたちをいかにうまく体現しているかということで、より一層注目を集めるだろう。しかし番組のスタッフたち特に美術監督は、この見た目の良さについて大いに称賛に値する。
・Just watched the show, everything seems to be great so far. They didn’t stray too far from it’s source material. I applaud Oda for making sure things go according to his vision. Solid 8/10.

・I was fine with it just being a decent adaptation of the source material but this is genuinely surpassing my expectations and it looks like a good SHOW in general for fans and non-fans alike.

・The cast are absolutely on point. Sanji character really does come through and doesn't feel forced when he flirt with all the girls. I wish Nami is a little more mean but overall, love this show so much. Can't wait for season 2.

・I want this to be enjoyed and well received, not because I'm a fan (I haven't read a word or seen a single second of the animated series) but because it's a well loved series and fandoms need a win.
これが楽しんでもらえて、高評価を得てほしい。ファンだからじゃないよ(原作を一言でも読んだわけでも、アニメシリーズを一秒でも見たわけでもない)でもこれは愛されているシリーズだし、ファンダムには勝利が必要だからね。
