通称「るろうに剣心」は90年代に放映されていたジャンプ漫画で原作、アニメ、実写映画も世界で人気のコンテンツです。2023年、再アニメ化が決定すると海外からも喜びの声が上がっていました。2023年版第2クールのオープニングは東京スカパラダイスオーケストラと菅田将暉さんのコラボレーションによる「るろうの形代」。曲は東京スカパラダイスオーケストラが手掛けており、作詞をバリトンサックスの谷中敦さん、作曲をベースの川上つよしさんが担当しました。菅田将暉さんは2009年に『仮面ライダーW』で俳優としてデビューし2017年に音楽活動を開始、2019年にはNHK紅白歌合戦にも出場しました。人気も実力もある菅田将暉さんと1985年から活動するベテランバンド東京スカパラダイスオーケストラのコラボ曲ですが、るろうに剣心の世界観や映像のシンプルさも含め、海外から様々な意見が寄せられています。
・I still like the first opening more, but this one has it's own charme so it's absolutely no downer and another 10/10 for me.

・The visuals is simple but I like it and the message it conveys. Just about Kenshin - his present and his past self - and then there's Kaoru reaching out to him
映像が単純だけど俺はそれが好きだし、それが伝えるメッセージが好きだ。剣心のことについて、彼の現在と過去の自分、そしてそこに薫が手を差し伸べるんだ。

物語を既に知っている全ての人へ。今シーズンがどうやって終わるのかもう知っているはずだ。そしてこのOPは俺にとって今シーズンの終わりについて多くを語っている。俺はこれ以上は言えないな。だって誰かにとってネタバレになっちゃうからね。10点中10点
・The track itself is a bop. I just don't think it works as an intro to Kenshin. I actually don't think Oro-chan ever had a intro song that felt right. I imagine a track that would be fun, energetic with a solid guitar riff, but still reflects the darker themes of the story. I say get JAM project involved and see what they can come up with for intro #3
歌自体は最高。剣心のオープニングとしては機能してないと思う。オロちゃんが正しいと感じたオープニングを持っていたことがあるとは、実際には思わない。ソリッドギターリフがあって楽しくてエネルギッシュ、だけどそれでも物語の暗いテーマを反映する曲を想像するよ。あのね、JAMプロジェクトを巻き込んで、彼らがオープニングに何を思いつけるのか見るのさ。
