英語圏の掲示板「Reddit」に投稿された上記の題から、ワンピースのキャラクターで海外で人気があるのは誰かを調査します。
・I have to ask though: Who is everyone's favorite character(s)?It doesn't matter what you judge them by, just what you feel in your heart. As for myself, Luffy is the first protagonist that I've genuinely liked. Other than him, Law, Ace, and Robin are definitely in my top 5.
皆のお気に入りのキャラクター(たち)は誰ですか？という疑問です。何で判断するかに関わらず、心で何を感じるかによります。私自身はルフィは本当に好きになった最初の主人公です。彼の他はロー、エースそれとロビンは間違いなくトップ5に入ります。
・I absolutely love Luffy. He’s just the coolest, really funny and despite his impulsiveness he has a good head and good heart.
私は断然ルフィが大好き。彼はただ最高にかっこいいし、本当に面白くて、衝動的なのに頭がよくて心根もいい奴。
・I really loved Zoro from the start,hes my number 1..I like so many other characters,but maybe i would choose Law and luffy if i had to form a top 3..
最初からゾロが本当に好き。彼は私のナンバー１。他にもたくさんのキャラクターが好きだけど、トップ3を決めるならローとルフィを選ぶかな。
・Usopp, relatable guy, just wants to have fun.
ウソップ。ただ楽しみたいだけの親しみやすい奴。
・I feel like Corazon is so underrated just because of his DF. But honestly I admire his character so much to the point where I felt Law’s wanting of revenge on Doffy. I genuinely hope he didn’t die tho.
コラソンはDFのせいですごく過小評価されてると思うよ。でも正直なところ、彼のキャラクターは立派だと思うよ。ローがドフィに復讐したがっていると感じるくらいにはね。彼が死んでなかったことを心から願うよ。
・Law, since his very first apparition. When I saw his fucking smile and chill demeanor, I was like "yeah. Yeah I like this guy".
Oda didn't disappoint me in the years that followed.
彼の初めての登場からローが好き。彼の素晴らしい笑顔と冷静な態度を見て、「イェー、イェーこの男が好きだ。」みたいな感じになった。尾田はその後数年は私を失望させなかったよ。
・Blackbeard's just a great villain. And Buggy's hilarious.
Also every single Straw Hat.
黒ヒゲはただただ素晴らしい悪役だよ。それとバギーは陽気で滑稽だね。麦わらの一味のそれぞれ皆も好きだよ。
・Almost forgot him, because we don't see him so often, but Kuzan really is the coolest for me. Also I like mighty figures riding a bike to work. xD
あんまり彼に会わないからほとんど忘れちゃったけど、でもクザンは本当にかっこいいよ。自転車に乗って働く素晴らしい人物像も好き。
・Bon Clay. Guy got locked up twice for Luffy. If that ain’t the definition of a ride or die then I don’t know what is.
ボン・クレーはルフィのために2回も閉じ込められた。それが乗るか死ぬかの定義でない場合、私にはわからないよ。
・In all honesty it's hard as fuck for me to narrow it down. I like basically every warlord, yonko, marine admiral, strawhat etc. For now I will say Whitebeard.
正直な話、それを絞り込むのはクソみたいに難しいよ。基本的にすべての武将と四皇、海軍大将、麦わらの一味などが好きだよ。今なら白髭だって言うかな。
・Hard question but Zoro, Law, Vivi, Pell leave an indelible mark in me.
難しい質問だが、ゾロ、ロー、ビビ、ペルは私に消えない痕を残して行ったよ。
・I actually love Akainu. A twisted "hero" in a cruel world trying to better it with partly extreme measurements. His actions seem pretty logical and realistic to me for a character, that has been formed by some shit in his childhood, judging by this.
実際、赤犬が大好きです。部分的に極端な才量で残酷な世界を正そうとするゆがんだヒーロー。彼の行動はその幼少期のクソな経験によって形成された性格から判断するとかなり合理的で現実的に見える。
・Hancock-I like how over the top her entitled jerk attitude is (like the whole dog and cat kicking entrance). And then her thing for Luffy is funny.
ハンコックの尊大でぶしつけな態度（犬や猫が入口をけっているような）が好き。それと彼女のルフィについての様子も面白い。
・Bon Clay- His/her appearances near the end of Alabasta and of course Impel Down sold me on him. His friendship with Luffy is always funny and sweet.
ボンクレー。彼/彼女のアラバスタの最後のほうの容姿とインペルダウンで彼を認めた。
・ Capone Bege-Whole Cake Island really developed his character. He’s got a unique look within One Piece, cool power, and cool personality.
ホールケーキアイランドのカポネベッジは本当に個性が育ったね。彼はワンピースの中でユニークなルックス、かっこいい力、そしてかっこいい個性を持っている。
・Ivankov- Ivankov is a competent character with a cool ability. The scene in Marineford where the Marines were running away from his/her giant head made me laugh out loud. It’s pretty cool how Ivankov is one of the top Revolutionary members.
イヴァンコフはクールな能力を持つ有能なキャラクターです。海兵が彼/彼女の巨大な頭から逃げているマリンフォードでのシーンは私を爆笑させました。イヴァンコフが革命軍のトップメンバーの一人であるのはかなりかっこいいです。
麦わらの一味やロー、エースなど日本でも人気のあるキャラクターが海外でも人気のようです。ワンピースはそれぞれの島ごとにたくさんの登場人物が出てくるマンガですが、どのキャラクターも個性豊かで多くの人に愛されていることがわかります。
